Leon ran track with me in school and always had a smile on his face. He was a kind soul and a good athlete who took great joy in others success without jealousy or envy. My lifelong empathy and love and compassion for Spanish Latino and Chicano brothers came I believe from playing sports and growing up with "Hermanos" like Leon. Bill Fairfax (formerly Bill McCraw).
