Cora was a very sweet girl. We had "Cooking" class and P.E. together. We were friends. Yes, she died in the freshman/Soph' time frame. I am sorry I dont remember the exact date. I did go to the mortuary to pay my respects. I didnt have a drivers license so mama drove me there after my father came home from work. I was very sad. She had told me she was going to die and I remember going home and talking to my mom about it all. Cora had discribed her illness to me and I really didnt understand any of it. Especially the dying part. I had only known of elderly relatives dying never at that point a young person. I cried a lot when she was gone. I kept thinking I would see her again at school. I missed her very much. It was a difficult time for me. Now they counsel kids that experience losing young friends and Im glad they do.
