Banning - Howard t. Sartain II - Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday for Howard T. Sartain II, 58, at the Pismo Beach Community Church with Rev. Shona Kiilsgard officiating.  Cremation was requested with private inurnment to be at a later date.

     Mr. Sartain died April 1, 1999, in a hospital in banning, California.  He was born December 23, 1940 in Los Angeles.  With his family, he moved to Santa Maria in 1941.  He attended local schools and graduated from Santa Maria High School in 1959.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 until discharge in 1967.  He has lived in Banning for the last year.  He has worked in the trucking industry as a clerk for the last 21 years.  Mr. Sartain's hobbies included stamp collecting, gardening and helping others.

     He is survived by many family and friends.
