Jon S. Patterson, 69, of San Luis Obispo passed away of heart failure Monday, Nov. 29, 2010. He was born and raised in Santa Maria, and was a 36-year employee of CalTrans as a Right of Way Agent. Prior to that, he was stationed in Ulm, Germany, with the U.S. Army. Jon is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Sehmsdorf; girlfriend, Sally Hopkins, and her daughters Diana (Clint) Jones and Kathryn Hopkins. He also counted Debbie and Richard Shannon and their children, Paul and Cynthia, as family. The recitation of the rosary will be at 10:15 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Wheeler-Smith Mortuary, 2890 S. Higuera St. in San Luis Obispo.
