Obituary: Marie Nance Posted: Friday, September 11, 2015 6:57 am
Marie C. Nance, 74, of Gustine, passed away Sunday, Aug. 30.
Mrs. Nance was a native of Las Cruces, N.M.
She lived in Gustine for 10 years, after previously residing in Newman, Atwater and Colorado.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Nance was a parishioner at the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles, where she was a Eucharistic minister and taught Sunday school.
She had a passion for painting, and enjoyed traveling with her son and daughter-in-law.
She loved her dog Buffy, and enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Nance is survived by her son, Charles Nance and daughter-in-law Suzette Poulter of San Ramon; two step-sons, William Nance of Florida and Donald Nance of Georgia; a brother, Raymond Castillo of Santa Maria; three sisters, Minga Trujillo of Santa Maria, Katie Tamayo of Ceres and Jenny Cabrara of Los Banos; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Lloyd" Nance, and a sister, Andrea Dudley.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine. Interment will follow in Hills Ferry Cemetery.
Hillview Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
