Gene Reid 1940-2007

      Gene Reid passed away at age 66 in his home in January 2007 after a long battle with cancer. He went to Santa Maria High School and graduated with the Class of 1959.

     Gene grew up in Santa Maria and over his lifetime, helped many friends with do-it-yourself projects.  He worked for the City of Santa Maria for 32 years and retired in 1995.

     He and his family moved to Lone Pine, California in the High Desert in 2005.  He is survived by his wife, Katy and his son R.J.   His brother and wife, Forest and Pam, nieces and nephews and best friends Ray and Sharon Baker.
