Betty Jean Langley

Betty Jean Langley born January 9, 1942 in Santa Maria, Ca. to Alvin and Dorothy Smith passed peacefully in her sleep Tuesday November 1, 2016. Betty grew up here on the Central Coast and graduated Santa Maria high school in 1959. After graduation she worked for GTE as a telephone operator where she met and Married Billy Ray Langley of Talladega Al. In July of 1963. They spent their lives here in Santa Maria. Later in life Betty had her greatest achievement returning to Alan Hancock College where she graduated as a licensed nurse. She worked the next 15 years in the field of skilled nursing which gave her great joy. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Betty is survived by her husband Bill Langley, her daughter Christine Langley Lawrence of Upland, Ca. Married to Pastor Craig Lawrence, her son Rick Langley of Berlin, Nh married to Rachel Langley. Her 4 grandchildren Brianna Langley, Carissa Lawrence, Chad Lawrence, and Candace Lawrence. Her Great grandson Liam Hackney. A graveside service for family and friends will be held in the old section of the Santa Maria cemetery on Thursday November 10, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Cards and flowers may be sent Dear bill and family to 1501 S College st Santa Maria, Ca. 93454 before 1 pm on November 10, 2016.
